Younique Moodstruck Epic Mascara
Personally, I had never heard of Younique until very recently when I was offered one of their mascaras to try in exchange for a review. After doing some research on the brand, I have discovered that it is an American-based company set up to raise money for survivors of abuse. As always, my reviews are entirely honest and based solely on my personal experience.
Packaging - I was so pleasantly surprised when the mascara arrived. As I already mentioned, I have had no previous experience with Younique, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The branded tissue paper was such a nice touch (and a great backdrop for product photos!). I really love the tapered shape of the mascara tube - it makes it super easy to hold and gives you full control during application.
Application - Let me begin with saying that the wand is a dream. The initial results after applying only one coat of mascara are absolutely astounding - my lashes have rarely looked so long and defined! Much to my disappointment, after a few hours, I found that the wow-factor began to fade and the mascara began to flake onto my cheek. Obviously, if the flaking is minute, I'd just brush it off and get on with my day, but the flaking was so severe that my eyes began to get extremely red and irritated, causing them to water constantly. Not ideal! Unfortunately, because of this, I had to remove it immediately. No matter what method I used to apply this mascara, I had the same result every time I used it.
Price - There are three variations of the Moodstruck Epic Mascara - black, brown, and black waterproof. I received and tried the black. All three retail at €26 each.
Conclusion - Truth be told, this mascara didn't really work for me. While I can't guarantee it, I would imagine that the waterproof variation would have the same phenomenal results, but with much greater longevity. This is solely my own presumption, taking into consideration the fact that I have not tried it.
