18 Facts About Me
As many of you know, I turned 18 earlier this month, so I thought what better way to celebrate than to write a post with 18 facts about me! As I've never done one of these posts before, the facts are going to be fairly general ones. I may do other posts like this, such as Q&A's, etc., so if you have any questions you'd like to ask me about fashion, beauty, or anything else, be sure to send them on and I'll do my best to answer them all in my future posts! So here we go...
1) My birthday is on the 9th of October, and as I mentioned previously, I'm now 18.
2) I live in County Cork, Ireland.
3) I've been homeschooled since I was 10 (5th class), and I'm currently studying for my A-Levels.
4) I'm extremely diligent and focused on studying and achieving my goals, hence why I haven't been posting a lot lately. As soon as my schedule calms down again and I have more spare time, I would love to be able to write more posts and be creative with my photos, etc.
5) My dream is to study psychology at university next year. My goal is to attain a bachelor's degree, followed by a master's, and eventually a PhD.
6) My dream career is a child/adolescent clinical psychologist, and I'm so determined to achieve it.
8) I'm currently studying for my Grade 8 piano exam with the RIAM. I adore music, especially the piano, and I would love to teach it sometime when (and if) I ever find the time.
9) I love swimming, and out of all the various sports and different forms of exercise I've partaken in, swimming has always remained my firm favourite. I'm not overly competitive when it comes to sports, so I don't compete anymore - I much prefer to focus on technique and distance.
9) I love swimming, and out of all the various sports and different forms of exercise I've partaken in, swimming has always remained my firm favourite. I'm not overly competitive when it comes to sports, so I don't compete anymore - I much prefer to focus on technique and distance.
10) I've volunteered for the Irish Red Cross since I was 16. I initially joined while in 4th year so I could do something good with my spare time, and two years later, I'm still doing it because I found myself really loving it. I would highly recommend it to anyone considering a career in medicine, someone that wants to learn practical first-aid skills, or even someone that just wants to do good for others with the time that would have otherwise been spent scrolling on Instagram. Just in case anyone's wondering, two years ago, even the thought of blood would have (and definitely did) made me weak at the knees, but you can learn to overcome it.
11) I started my blog back on the 4th of February, 2017. Believe it or not, I actually completely forgot about my one-year blogiversary until a few months later and I've been kicking myself over it ever since. Oh well...
12) At 5'8", I'm quite tall. Yes, I'm nearing 6 foot in heels, and yes, I love them too much to care. When I was younger, I used to hate being taller than other people my age, but I've learned to really appreciate my height now. Someone considerably shorter than me once tried to mock me by asking if I played basketball because I was so tall, and my automatic retort was, "No, do you play mini golf?". I have to admit that I'm still quite proud of that comeback.
13) I have a little 7-month-old rabbit called Clover. He's a Dutch Dwarf and practically the love of my life.
14) I'm an introvert, which sometimes surprises people. Although I'm not nearly as shy as I used to be, I'm still rather quiet and reserved in real life. In saying that, I have quite a bubbly personality when I become comfortably acquainted with people.
15) I am so organized. If I don't have plans made well in advance, I get so stressed. I'd start planning things years in advance if I could. I'm also a perfectionist, so between making plans and making sure that everything perfect, I keep myself busy.
16) I don't have a favourite food. I love pizza and lasagna and ice cream, but there isn't really anything that is like my absolute favourite. I really like a lot of different foods, but I don't really prefer one over the other, if that makes sense.
17) In case you haven't already gathered by reading some of my previous posts, I'm a huge believer in classic, investment pieces. I don't buy as much as I used to because I now save up and invest in pieces that are good quality and will last for years. Oh, and I really dislike fast fashion. You can read why in my blog post here.
18) I would much rather be overdressed than underdressed. My love for all things glam has resulted in me somehow managing to walk 12.5 kilometres during a full day of shopping and wearing my beloved 3-inch stilettos. Hardly believable I know, but both of my exercise apps stated so. For those wondering, yes, I most definitely was crippled after that excursion... I still haven't learned my lesson though.
So that's it - 18 facts about me! As I mentioned previously, feel free to ask me as many questions as you like, and I'll try my best to answer them all in my future posts.
