Budget Bargains - Dorothy Perkins PU Midi Pencil Skirt
There is nothing I love more than finding great pieces to add to my wardrobe, especially gorgeously versatile pieces at amazing prices. A faux leather skirt is something that I have wanted to buy get for ages, but surprisingly enough, I found it quite difficult. As a girl that's 5'9", getting a skirt to be a comfortable length is actually quite a struggle. Recently, I've been loving midi skirts and dresses.
When I saw this skirt in Dorothy Perkins, I was delighted! They only had one left, and it was my size. To make it even better, it was on sale for €6.50 and it fit like a glove. It is gorgeously flattering, and it gives such confidence (well, it did for me, anyway). This skirt is a tall girl's dream come true - a perfectly slim midi pencil skirt with a front split. The split also makes it easier to walk, especially in heels. I mean, who wants to be waddling like a penguin?
When I tried to find the skirt online for this blog post, I realized that it has now sold out. Although, you can still find them on the sale rails in store. If your size has sold out, I found an identical skirt in their new collection. I couldn't see any difference whatsoever, other than the price, obviously. I bought my skirt reduced from €30 to €6.50, whereas the new season skirts retail at €32. The new skirt also comes in 'petite' for women 5'3" and under and 'tall' for women 5'10" and over. Although €32 is still very reasonable, if you think that it's worth taking the gamble and waiting until it's in the sale, you could, but I'm not sure that they're going to stay in stock until then.
There are so many ways that you could style this skirt, from day to night, from work to brunch with the girls. My personal favourite way to wear skirts is with a tight top. Blouses, bodysuits, jumpers, and knits are all good options, too. To smarten it up for work, all you need is a white dress shirt tucked in. Personally, I would wear heels with a skirt like this, but you could also wear Gucci loafers. I would pick the Gucci Jordaan Snaffle Loafers, or for a bit of extra height, the Gucci Marmont Mid Heel Loafers. If they're out of your price range, Kurt Geiger has some nice styles.
